___________ Is A Community

Myspace is a community. It is used to keep in touch with old friends, to make new ones, and just to see what people are up to with their present day lives. People comment, message, and blog. There are over 206,458,309 people that are involved in this "community." The "myspace.com A place for friends"logo implys that if you have a myspace profile you will get friends. This is very appealing to people that sit at home on their computers all day and don't have very many friends.
Myspace is a chance for people to be whoever they want. You can't really know that someone is what they are in person, when they are that online. People's interaction on myspace hold its together and keeps it going. There is a pluthera of smaller groups within the whole entirety of myspace which also helps to hold it together.
People feel the need to be involved in groups with people that are interested in the same things, and to converse about their lives, even if noone really cares, through bullitens and using their "about me" section on their profile. People like to feel like they have somewhere to vent about their lives, or just to keep in touch with their friends. Myspace is the new way of keeping in touch, because it is much faster then mailing letters and more convenient then calling someone sometimes.
Although this is an easy way to keep in touch, it's also an easy way to get bothered by creeps. The downside of having a myspace is that there have been many known cases of myspace stalkers, also myspace is a place for drama. There have been many issues with schools and people gossiping or harrassing each other over the internet.
I fit into this community because everyone fits into this community. No matter what you will fit in some part of it if you want to try to. I want to be part of this community because I know that if I didn't talk to a lot of people on here, I probably wouldn't find the time to talk to or hang out with them as much as I do now.
